Be Prepared Tour – What’s Happening? Part 1

by Jason DeZurik

We received the following letter from one of the youth we ministered to in Amarillo, Texas at San Jacinto Christian Academy. We ministered there for two full days during the school days with a Silverline concert in the evening.

Worldview Warriors,

I know that nothing I could ever say would thank you enough for what you have done for our school, San Jacinto Christian Academy.

The sessions were absolutely wonderful. The speakers knew the answers to most questions that were asked. The sessions that I went to were very interesting and kept my attention throughout the entire lesson. The lesson about knowing what you’re supposed to do with your life and the gifts God has given to you is the lesson that many of us connected with most. Many people were brought to Christ or realized that the life they were living was not the right path that God wanted for them. I personally have never seen our school this fired up about a group that has come and brought the message to us.

When we have our chapel days, everyone just wants to go back to class or go home, but when you were here, they wanted to stay and be able to talk and pray with all of you. One person for which we have been praying for awhile was saved and touched by your words and your prayers; she was going down the wrong path and has been for a while. The time you took to talk to her and to pray for her and with her made her realize that she was not acting the way God wants us to as Christians. Christian means, “little Christ,” so I believe that we, as Christians, should live like Christ. To see kids weep and fall on their knees praying to God, asking for His forgiveness was a wonderful sight to see.

At San Jacinto, it is extremely hard for the students to fully appreciate what someone is doing for our school. We have had many groups and people come and talk to us about God. But they do not actually get on our level and work, pray, and teach us, so that we have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Another thing we respected about you is that you treated us as young adults and not children.

The miracles that I heard from some of the students that you touched, that you prayed for, touched my heart and made me weep for them. I do not know how to express my thanks to all of you for taking away time from your jobs and your families to come and preach and teach students about God’s Word and His plans for us. I especially have been touched by everything that I have heard and seen. My hearing has been impaired since I was a young child, and when you guys prayed over my ears I was able to hear everything clearly. God heard your prayer and granted it. I have full hearing in my left ear, and I haven’t had full hearing since I was 6 years old.

I truly do appreciate your group and the wonderful things you have done. Thank you all again, and I hope to see your group at San Jacinto again and hope to hear of the many great things that you are doing for other students around the world. Even though we are seniors, we are planning on hearing about the group that went to San Jacinto and hope to hear about you on the radio. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Love in Christ,

A Senior for San Jacinto Christian Academy
